Hey there, delegates! 👀

I'm thrilled to be serving as one of the Vice Chairs for the Korean Imperial Court Crisis Committee at BMUN 72, and I can't wait to dive into this exciting experience with all of you.

I'm Janna Lee (She/They/He), a freshman at UC Berkeley, double majoring in Environmental Economics and Policy as well as Political Science. I've always been fascinated by how politics, law, and sustainability intersect to shape our world, and I'm eager to explore these topics further with you all.

My journey with BMUN has been eye-opening and rewarding. From brainstorming engaging committee topics to problem-solving as a team, I've learned the power of collaboration and the importance of tackling global issues together. BMUN has truly fueled my passion for positively impacting the world.

Outside of the MUN world, you'll often find me lost in the music of the piano or working on my own cartoon series. I also love getting hands-on with costume design and prop work—it's my way of bringing creativity to life. 

I'm excited to embark on this journey with you all, and I can't wait to see what we'll accomplish together in the Korean Imperial Court Crisis Committee. Let's make BMUN 72 unforgettable!

Hello everyone! My name is Rafael Kaye-Lew (he/him) and I am excited to be one your awesome Vice Chairs for BMUN 72's Korean Imperial Court! I am a junior studying political science and data science and this is my first year chairing for BMUN. I am interested in the intersection between technology and society, and am particularly fascinated by the rising influence of information systems in our day-to-day lives. What brought me to BMUN is its fantastic community and long standing history of supporting bright students in their curiosity about global affairs. International relations are so important, particularly right now, which is why it is so exciting to help guide young minds into becoming future leaders. Procedure and Committee Flow

Hi Delegates!  I wanted to check in with you to provide some more insight to how our committee is going to work at BMUN 72. The Korean Imperial Court will be using standard crisis procedure.  We will begin with a perpetual moderated caucus with one minute speaking time per delegate. Delegates may wish to create a new motion (such as a motion for a round robin, or an opportunity for all delegates to speak for a set period of time about themselves and their goals for committee). When we are voting for new motions and all motions fail, we will default to a perpetual unmoderated caucus. Throughout committee sessions, delegates will collaborate to navigate the current situation in moderated and unmoderated caucuses. Delegates will submit directives, or solutions to address a certain issue in the current situation. Directives may be publicly submitted for all of committee to see and deliberate, or may be privately submitted to the dais to secretly advance your own personal agenda. C...

Position Paper Tips

  Hi delegates! Just wanted to check in and offer a bit more guidance on your position papers. As a reminder, Korean Imperial Court will be using standard Position Paper format detailed in the Position Paper Overview page on the BMUN website . Besides the general format, we wanted to offer some tips on the research process and the formation of your paper.  Research The biggest favor you can do for yourself in the writing process is to really apply time and effort into understanding the topics beforehand. Luckily, your generous dais has written the key to beginning this process: your synopsis! Not only do we recommend reading this synopsis, but we hope that you will interact with it. Ask questions, make connections, reflect on what you learned. Familiarizing yourself with the synopsis is the key to a smooth research experience.  After reading the synopsis, don’t stop there!
